Amazon is working with sheep farmers to save their peak season
The closure of restaurants and borders due to COVID-19 caused a major crisis in the sheep meat industry, which saw two of its main sales channels shut down: restaurants and exports. Thanks to collaboration between Amazon and INTEROVIC (the interbranch organisation for the sheep and goat meat sector in Spain), Amazon Prime customers in Madrid and Barcelona can now enjoy traditional cuts of lamb and goat, such as chops, shanks, shoulders, skewered diced meat, leg steaks and skirt steaks. -
A thank you to the heroes working on the frontlines
Over the past few weeks, we have been working with hospitals, schools and community organizations around the world to provide $5 million in Amazon Devices to help those impacted by COVID-19. In Europe, patients in hospitals and care homes are using our tablets to stay in touch with their families. Teachers and schools are using our tablets and Kindle devices to help students continue learning while schools are closed. Community organizations are helping people in isolation by using our devices to provide entertainment and the ability to connect with loved ones. -

Amazon Supports Fight against Climate Change Effects on European Cities
Following The Climate Pledge commitment, and recognizing the urgency of the climate crisis and its impacts on urban communities, Amazon announced a €3.75 million commitment to The Nature Conservancy in an effort to reduce climate change risks and increase species biodiversity in cities. The project will start in Berlin. Learnings will be applied in two other German locations, and then these models will be shared across other European cities. -
