Every school kid loves when they’re able to escape the classroom and go on a field trip, so we gave some students the chance to check out our Coblenz Fulfillment Center in Germany.

“This was a great opportunity for our students to learn about the work processes in a FC and see what’s behind the Amazon packages,” said Marc Zimer, Physics teacher at Lenster Lycée, a school specializing in STEM education. Amazon in Luxembourg has a special partnership with the school to encourage innovation and STEM education. Amazonian volunteers frequently showcase coding and other tasks to students.

“From picking the products to packing them and shipping customer orders, the visit taught the students all about the inner workings of an Amazon Fulfillment Centre,” said Marcel Stern, IT-Manager from the FC. Over 1.800 associates outside the holiday season work at the Fulfillment center, which is one of over 45 in our European Fulfillment network that serves our customers across Europe.
